Dalco works with Southwest Australia's Watershed Wines

Watershed Premium Wines(“Watershed”)  has been using a Dalco Engineering Nitrogen Gas Generating system in the production of their fine wines since March 2009.

Their vineyard is located in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia.

Watershed previously used 100% CO2 to preserve the quality of their wine and prevent oxidation, which would result in the degradation of the wine.

With the increasing cost of CO2 gas and the desire to reduce the wineries carbon footprint, Watershed decided to replace a large percentage of the CO2 with Nitrogen.  The Winery decided on using a Dalco nitrogen generating system with adjustable gas mixer, instead of high pressure cylinders.

The generating system from Dalco allows Watershed to produce all their nitrogen gas needs onsite rather than buying in bottled gas. The Dalco system also contains a N2/CO2 Gas Mixer to allow for the mixing of the gases. 

Winemaker Severine Logan of Watershed Premium Wines says that,

“The Dalco Nitrogen generator is giving us more flexibility with our inert gas options. We are now self sufficient with Nitrogen gas production. Our reduction in CO2 usage is also helping us to reduce our carbon footprint for the winery.”
